We live in a land of privilege.
In Laos, a country of over 6 million in Southeastern Asia, birth looks different than it does here. Maternal and infant mortality statistics here are among the highest in the world. Only 20% are joined by a skilled birth attendant, and because of the lack of qualified care, in Laos and worldwide, 1 million women and infants will die due to infection following birth.
For every ONE death, THIRTY will suffer debilitating illness and/or permanent disability.
SO HERE'S WHAT WE'RE GOING TO DO ABOUT IT.
Milk & Hannah now supports CleanBirth.org in bringing life-saving Clean Birth Kits and nurse training to more than 150 villages in Salavan Province, Laos.
Every Clean Birth Kit includes:
Padded blood absorbing sheet for comfort and easy clean up
Medicated soap to prepare a safe birth environment
Sterile surgical blade for cutting the umbilical cord
Cord clips for precision and to help prevent infection
Effective immediately, every session booked with Milk & Hannah donates to the mission at CleanBirth.Org.
Every session fee now covers the purchase of FIVE Clean Birth Kits.
So, THANK YOU!!
This donation positively impacts the lives of 10 mothers and their infants by promoting a safe, clean birth environment.
